Metal corrosion in continuously and intermittently operated drinking water distribution systems< Back

Part D4 of the BMBF joint project "Demand-oriented R&D in water and wastewater treatment - part I: Drinking water"
In order to provide the scientific background for German companies in the business of water treatment and distribution in foreign countries, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) initiated the joint research project "Demand-oriented R&D in water and wastewater treatment". In this special project the TZW studies the effect of the parameters temperature, DOC, and disinfection on the corrosion of copper, galvanized steel, and brass. The experiments are performed at a pilot system in Dresden where further research groups also work on microbiological issues of drinking water treatment and distribution.
